Neydi Dominican Hair Salon was born from a simple truth: beautiful hair starts with knowing how to care for it. Founder Elva learned the art of Dominican hair care from her mother and grandmother in the Dominican Republic — techniques passed down with love, perfected over generations.
When Elva moved to the United States, she brought those techniques with her. What started as styling hair for friends and family grew into a full-service salon trusted by hundreds of clients across the DMV area.
Today, Neydi Dominican Hair Salon is known for its signature blowouts, expert color work, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes every client feel like family. We combine traditional Dominican methods with modern techniques to deliver results that speak for themselves.

Dominican hair care is a world-renowned methodology centered on health, moisture, and elasticity. Unlike standard blow-dry techniques that rely on flat irons and extreme, direct heat that strips the hair cuticles, our traditional method uses a three-step protective approach.
The Roller Set Set-up (Rolos)
We set the hair in large rollers to stretch and dry it under a hood dryer. This indirect heat creates incredible root volume, smooths texture gently, and retains natural moisture without thermal damage.
Shampoo & Mascarilla Dominicanas
We import authentic formulas rich in proteins, keratin, and natural oils (such as avocado, garlic, and coconut) designed specifically to fortify all textures, from fine curls to coarse coils.
The Round-Brush Polish
Using specialized round brushes and precise airflow control, we polish the hair shaft. This creates that signature Dominican bounce — hair that feels like silk, moves like water, and has an incomparable glass-like shine.

Elva (Neydi) learns the traditional Dominican hair care techniques from her mother and grandmother in Santo Domingo, mastering the chemistry of custom growth treatments and the art of the perfect roller set.
Arriving in the DMV
Moving to Maryland, Elva begins styling hair locally. Word quickly spreads in Temple Hills and beyond about her unique ability to restore dry, damaged hair to vibrant health while creating smooth, bouncy blowouts.
The Salon Doors Open
Neydi Dominican Hair Salon opens its physical location at 4702 Saint Barnabas Rd. Establishing a welcoming space where clients feel like family, the salon immediately becomes a cornerstone of the community.
